2015 Scholarship Awardees Announced

Keithley Lake & Associates is pleased to announce the scholarship awardees for the 2014/2015 academic year. The scholarships, which are co-sponsored with Daniel Brantley of Nevis, were launched in 2006 as a result of both firms' desire to assist deserving students enrolled in the Certificate of Legal Education Programme of the Norman Manley Law School. The scholarships are awarded annually to two second year students, one from the Eastern Caribbean and one from Jamaica, based on scholastic ability, leadership qualities, community involvement and financial need.

Anguilla High Court quashes Executive Council’s refusal to grant Alien Landholding Licence on basis of Legitimate Expectation

Michael Bourne led by Mr. Saul Froomkin Q.C., achieved notable success when they represented La Baia Ltd. in an application for Judicial Review of the decision of the Executive Council (EXCO) to not grant La Baia Ltd. an Alien Landholding Licence. The basis of the application was that the decision was in breach of a legitimate expectation.
